Kayla Austin, also known as "KAYROX," who is a 2nd-year student at Howard University, majoring in Film with a minor in political science. Growing up in the Chicagoland area and attending Cranbrook Kingswood in Michigan as a boarding student, Kayla has been a passionate creator, influencer, entrepreneur, filmmaker, and inventor from a young age, creating her first invention at 7 years old.

Kayla has been a member of the Girl Scouts since she was 5, earning her gold, bronze, and silver awards. For the past eight years, she has focused on making a difference in gun violence against youth, a passion ignited by her participation in the NAACP Jr. ACT-SO program. At the age of 12, she envisioned what is now "My Gun's Been Moved."

Her achievements include being selected as one of 50 African American girls for the Black Girls Lead program at Columbia and the BET Black Girls Rock Televised program, being honored by Monarch Magazine, selected by AT&T as one of 25 Dream in Black Future Leaders, identified as a 2022 Future Black History Maker by the National Urban, winning a Howard University Business school business pitch, being honored on Teen Vogue's 21 Under 21 List of "Young Revolutionaries You Should Know," and receiving $25,000 from Pharrell Williams’ Black Ambition Prize.

Kayla has also been active in raising awareness about social justice issues through her book and website “How to be a teen advocate,” raising over $3,200.00 for teens in Bolingbrook and Detroit to watch and discuss the movie on gun violence "The Hate U Give," and facilitating panels and discussions on gun violence and social justice.
